Thanksgiving In Iowa

We had a great time at Gabby's house for Thanksgiving!  We are thankful that we got to spend time with family.

...and Grace was terrified!  She wouldn't even look at him!

Griffin's 4th Birthday

Griffin had a great 4th birthday!

He had a blast making cookies with me ... he loved using the rolling pin, spreading the flour everywhere, and using the cookie cutter. 

This picture sums Griffin up ... we gave him a book and a toy rocket and he immediately set the rocket aside to read his book! 

We knew the 'happy birthday' candles woudln't fit on his rocket cake, so we put them in cinnamon rolls in the morning ... he was so excited! 

We also gave him a Whoopie Cushion ...he thought it was so hilarious! 

He had a fun Rocket themed birthday party ...

We can't believe he's already 4!!! 

Josh made jet packs for the kids ... here they are ready for take off... 

They spent the whole part running around like crazy! 

We also had a rocket photo booth ...  

It was huge and so much fun!

I wanted to get a group picture of all the kids at the party and looking at my attempts made me laugh:

This is the closest thing we got to a group picture ... 

...you just can't expect preschoolers with jet packs to sit still! 

And they're off! 

We were trying to make them smile so we said, "3, 2, 1... blast off!"  ... which lead to this: 

of course they followed directions and blasted off! 

to crazy chaos!

After Griffin read his book a few times, he did love his rocket : )   

That night Denver put on fireworks for Veteran's Day, so we headed to our friend's office downtown to watch in the warm indoors!

It was perfect! 

Griffin received some great gifts for his birthday, but of course the item he liked the most was the packaging...

...which they promptly turned into a sled to go down the stairs with! 

Life is good when you're 4!
