July 2013

July has flown by, probably more so since my 1st day of work is tomorrow, August 1st. The kids and I tried to pack in as much fun as possible before my job started!

Grace found a pari of cowboy boots that were Griffin's and was so excited that they fit her!

Griffin and I had a morning to ourself while Grace was at PDO and Griffin wanted to spend it at his favorite place, the Children's Museum.

Grace is getting really excited to become a big sister and has shown a little more interest in her babies in preparation for her new role!

Grace got her cast off last week and her elbow was all healed up. She kept calling it her "new arm" and was so excited to use it again!

Durango

We took a fun trip to Durango, CO with friends for a friend's wedding. It was great to spend a weekend away with friends!

We spent a morning at a park that had some fun musical instruments to play with

They had big swings, which the kids loved

Griffin called it his 'rocket swing'

Grace refused to be slowed down by her cast and still wanted to do everything Griffin did!

Grace's Cast

Grace fell off a chair and ended up with a fractured elbow ...

...it didn't slow her down much though! As soon as the cast was on she was back to her normal self!

Norris Lake

We had a fun week at Norris Lake!

Jordan & Griffin both love the water and had fun playing on the jet ski together

Grace tried the wooden ski trainer many times without questioning it and did a great job with Uncle Jason's help!

Celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks and sparklers ... Grace warmed up to the idea of sparklers after seeing Jordan singing and dancing with them; you can see Griffin's reaction in the background (he's in a green shirt as far away from the sparklers as he can get with his hands over his ears)

Jordan and Griffin on the boat before Fire on the Water, the annual 4th of July fireworks show. The kids were pretty scared of the fireworks at first, but warmed up to the idea and enjoyed it by the end.

I suggested we bake a cake one morning, left the kitchen for a second and came back to some eager little bakers!

And waves to us constantly while she's out there! Both kids would ride this thing all day if we let them!

We went to the marina to get ice cream ... this is a favorite activity for G&G, as they pretend to be on the boat going to the marina for ice cream all year long!

Grace really loves to swim, and she was thrilled that her life jacket made kicking on her back easier, she spent lots of time just kicking around!

We had a few days of rain while there and Griffin was thrilled! Rain is a bit of a rarity in Denver, so he was loving it!

One of Griffin's favorite parts of the lake is the sand box and mud pie maker ... he loves being able to get as messy as he wants. They discovered how fun it can be to drop a bucket of water into the larger bucket of water ...

... he thought it was the best!

Griffin loves being on the boat! He is usually quite studious while on the boat as he wants to learn all about the boat, how it works, and about every boat he sees.
