Estes Park

Grammy Sarah came into town to visit and we spent a few days in Estes Park ... Griffin had so much fun with his Grammy!

We drove through Rocky Mountain National Park on Trail Ridge Road and made some stops along the way ... Griffin loved walking on the rock ledge!

We had lunch in Grand Lake and then went on a short hike to see Adams Falls

After returning to Estes Park, we hiked to some beautiful lakes in the mountains ... this one is Bear Lake.

On Saturday we hiked to Mills Lake and passed a beautiful waterfall, Alberta Falls, on the way

It's hard work riding in the hiking back pack for such a long hike; Griffin couldn't stay awake!

There was a random old fire truck parked near the house we rented ...

... Griffin is a little obsessed with fire trucks and was excited to see it! He repeated "old fire truck" every time we drove by it!

The owners warned us we might see bears and sure enough we did...

they were pretty big!

... and they weren't too shy!

...thankfully, they gave up and retreated to the woods after a few minutes!
